Methodology
How we verify
This register exists to answer one question reliably: which UK packaging suppliers genuinely hold the sustainability credentials they claim? A listing is only as useful as the checking behind it, so our method is public.
What "verified" means
A credential is shown as Verified only when both of the following are true:
- It was confirmed through an authoritative route — a public certification register, direct confirmation from the issuing body, or a certificate document we have inspected.
- The record carries the source and the date it was checked, both visible on the supplier's page.
Anything a supplier merely asserts is labelled Self-declaredand never appears in our verified listings. When a certificate passes its expiry date it is marked Expired and removed from the relevant credential page until renewed.
What we do not do
- We do not sell listings or ranking. Inclusion cannot be bought.
- We do not score or judge suppliers' ethics. We report verifiable credentials and leave the judgement to you.
- We are independent and not affiliated with any certification body.
Sources we check against
Depending on the credential, these include the B Corp directory, UKAS-accredited ISO 14001 certificate registers, FSC and PEFC certificate databases, recognised compostability certification (EN 13432, OK Compost), and suppliers' published Carbon Reduction Plans, cross-referenced with Companies House for legal identity.
Corrections
If a record is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will recheck it against the source. Accuracy is the point of the register.
